Since 1980, Yashima Japanese Restaurant has been serving the heart of Covina with authentic flavors and homemade-style comfort. Founded by Sachiko Nonami and her beloved late husband, who brought the passion for Japanese cuisine to the community, our restaurant quickly became a local favorite known for freshness, tradition, and warm hospitality.


Today, the True Traditions continues with the next generation and proudly carrying on the legacy. While honoring the recipes and values passed down from our founder, we also bring new ideas, flavors, and energy to share with the next generation of Japanese cuisine lovers.

The aesthetic is vintage Italian lounge meets mid-century modern charm, with a cozy, elevated feel. It honors the building’s original terracotta flooring with warm rusts, mustards, and ochres, but introduces deep olives, muted purples, and moody browns to create depth and sophistication.
